Data Audit Consultancy

Your data tells a story.
Most companies never read it.

Buzomu examines what your organisation already collects, maps the gaps between data and decisions, and shows where meaningful improvements are within reach — without purchasing a single new tool.

What Buzomu Does

Most data problems are not data shortage problems.

Companies collect more data than they realise. CRM events, web analytics, operational logs, support tickets, financial transactions — the infrastructure is usually already there. What's missing is a clear picture of which data actually reaches decisions, and which sits idle.

Buzomu conducts structured audits of your existing data landscape. We document what's collected, trace how it flows (or doesn't) toward decisions, and identify where the distance between available information and actual choices is largest.

Scope of Work

What a Buzomu audit covers

Each engagement is scoped to the organisation's context, but the following areas form the core of every audit.

Data source inventory

A complete catalogue of every data source currently active in the organisation, including those that are rarely acknowledged.

Decision pathway mapping

Tracing which data points actually reach decision-makers and which are collected but never consulted in practice.

Data quality assessment

Evaluating the reliability, completeness, and consistency of collected data before it reaches any reporting layer.

Dormant data identification

Identifying data assets that are collected and stored but have no downstream use — resources being spent without return.

Integration gap analysis

Examining how data moves between systems and where handoffs create gaps, duplication, or distortion in the information chain.

Decision support gaps

Mapping decisions that currently lack data support, and distinguishing where existing data could already fill that gap.

Governance review

Reviewing how data governance practices — ownership, access, documentation — shape what gets collected and how it's used.

Prioritised recommendations

A prioritised set of improvements ranked by feasibility and potential decision impact, without assuming any new technology investment.

How We Work

A structured path from collection to clarity

Discovery

We begin with structured interviews across departments. The goal is to understand what decisions are being made, what data people believe they have, and what they wish they knew. This shapes everything that follows.

02

Inventory

We catalogue every data source in use — databases, analytics platforms, exports, manual spreadsheets. We document what each captures, how often, and who (if anyone) accesses it. The inventory is often the first time this has been done comprehensively.

03

Analysis

With the inventory complete, we analyse the distance between what's collected and what's used. We identify dormant data, trace broken handoffs between systems, and surface decisions that are made without the information that already exists to support them.

Recommendations

The audit concludes with a prioritised set of recommendations. Each one is tied to a specific decision or process, ranked by feasibility and potential impact. We explain the reasoning, not just the conclusion, so the organisation can act independently.

Why This Matters

New tools rarely solve old habits.

The instinct when decision quality feels insufficient is often to look for better software. A new BI platform, a different analytics suite, another dashboard. The investment is real. The improvement, frequently, is modest.

This happens because the underlying problem is rarely the tool. It's the gap between what data exists and how decisions are actually made. A new tool inherits that gap.

Buzomu works with what you already have. The audit process surfaces what's dormant, what's disconnected, and what's already available but not reaching the right people. The improvements that follow are structural, not cosmetic.
